Understanding Your Tide Clock
The tide clock tracks the natural tide cycle.
The indicator completes a full rotation in 12 hours and 25 minutes, which is the average time between two high tides.
This cycle is directly linked to the moon's movements.
To set the clock, position the indicator opposite the current tide status:
⬆️ Rising tide - 🌊 High tide - ⬇️ Falling tide - 🏖️ Low tide
Why might a discrepancy occur?
In reality, tides do not follow a perfectly regular rhythm.
Their times vary, notably under the influence of the Moon and the Sun, and according to the characteristics of each coastline.
With a traditional tide clock running at a constant speed, a slight discrepancy can therefore gradually appear.
To limit this, we recommend adjusting your tide clock during a new moon, and then readjusting it periodically if necessary.
Setting Your Tide Clock
- Enter the name of the port closest to you in the search bar, or select it directly on the map.
- The hand on the clock below will automatically adjust according to the current tide status in the chosen port.
- All you have to do is reproduce this position on your tide clock, by placing its hand on the same mark.
- Access to the adjustment wheel is done by removing the collar cover.
- Turn it clockwise.
- The setting applies to the chosen port. If you move along the coast, repeat the process with your new port.

What if the Clock Could Keep Pace with the Sea?
Traditional tide clocks operate on a regular cycle.
The sea, however, does not always.
It is from this observation that our new project was born.
NAUDET is currently working in collaboration with Marees.org, inventor of the Connected Tide Clock,
on the development of a new generation of instruments.
A traditional tide clock operates at a fixed rate.
This new instrument, however, will track the actual tide of the chosen location.
Our ambition: to retain the elegance and immediate readability of a genuine NAUDET analog clock,
while combining our historical expertise with the possibilities offered by technology.
The project is currently under development and refinement.

Lunar Clock
Understanding your lunar clock
The lunar clock allows you to follow the different phases of the moon.
The indicator completes a full rotation in 29 and a half days,
corresponding to the duration of a lunar cycle:
🌑 New Moon - 🌓 First Quarter - 🌕 Full Moon - 🌗 Last Quarter
Once set, the lunar clock faithfully reproduces the evolution of the cycle.
A slight discrepancy may appear over time, so it is possible to make a one-time adjustment if necessary.
Setting Your Moon Clock
The clock hand shown below automatically indicates the position corresponding to the current phase of the Moon.
- Remove the collar cover to access the adjustment wheel.
- Turn the wheel clockwise
- Place the hand on the same graduation as indicated below.
- Then replace the cover: your lunar clock is set.
- This setting is identical worldwide, regardless of your location.

Silent clock and quiet zones
NAUDET quartz clocks are designed for silent operation.
Unlike traditional clocks, the second hand moves continuously, thus eliminating the ticking sound.
On some models, shaded areas appear on the dial: these are the so-called "silence" zones.
These markings are inspired by old marine clocks.
They correspond to periods during which radio silence was observed, in order to leave the frequency clear for distress calls.
Today, these areas are preserved as a historical and aesthetic element, reminiscent of the maritime world.
