OBSIDIAN STONE BAROMETER

The result of a collaboration between Maison Naudet and CUB-AR, a creative workshop specializing in cutting and polishing Armenian obsidian, this barometer is an exceptional piece where artistic craftsmanship meets precision instrumentation.

Each dial is crafted from natural obsidian stone, cut and hand-polished before being engraved. The inscriptions are then hand-gilded, revealing all the depth and unique reflections of this volcanic stone. No two obsidians are alike, making each instrument a truly unique creation.

Inside the casing is one of Maison Naudet's most precise mechanisms. Entirely designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested in our workshop, it offers a precision of ± 1 hPa, allowing for reliable monitoring of atmospheric pressure variations. Indications are expressed in hectopascals (hPa) and millimeters of mercury (mmHg).

With its diameter of 12.5 cm and depth of 5.4 cm, this barometer naturally integrates into a refined interior. It can be easily hung thanks to its hanging loop.

More than a measuring instrument, this barometer celebrates the encounter between two exceptional forms of expertise. A rare piece, designed to withstand the test of time and be passed down from generation to generation.
